Yup, those are my boys. Iconoclasts and unique artists, truly incomparable, by any standards. With my work schedule, I don't manage to zip around to other sites as much as I'd like, to my deep regret. However, it's always fun to come across kindred spirits in the blogosphere and I try to reach out when I can. Thanks for coming by...

Mwa! Mwa! I blow kisses your way for being the first to leave a comment on this tale. Now perhaps you can explain to me what the hell possessed me to wait so long before adding it to the blog. Stoopid, that's me...

Mark, I've heard this contention before but too many of these wannabes think that plugging away for a few weeks gives them an inkling of what it's like to be a REAL writer--a grotesque (and sickening) misconception. I've spent a quarter century beating my brains out on a daily basis and tapping out ten or twenty thousand words over the course of the month doesn't come CLOSE to giving anyone an understanding of the amount of punishment I've inflicted on my body, mind and spirit over the course of two+ decades. I've paid my dues and, to quote Harlan Ellison, these fuckers don't deserve to carry my pencil case.

Keep putting one word ahead of the other, man, and good fortune to you...

Anything that encourages more people to understand the joys and agony of writing is a good thing. I know the process of writing my own book helped me appreciate other authors' works even more.

"Ernst" was based on a real guy and the old building still stands down in Regina. Glad you enjoyed "Death Threats", always suspected it was a charmer.

Great little piece, i was indeed moved. Love the ernst character, and great narrative voice. Its a much-used theme, the 40-yr old death fear, but you really gave it a fresh touch.
Thanx

Definitely a possibility (a future spoken word/music compilation). I love combining music and my writing and I've been spending hours and hours on Garageband, putting tunes and "interludes" together. Watch for more in the future. Thanks for writing...

Very nice, Cliff. Amazing that you're able to make something so sophisticated with such basic tools. Ever thought of putting out an audiobook - say of poetry, or stories - with all your own ambient mood-music for background?
